Today, two scholars who built their careers on studying #Syrian refugees attacked me so viciously that I have only one conclusion: Some academics are infuriated when members of the communities they study get an education and speak for themselves /1 You may disagree with my work. In fact, I am laser-focused on the limitations of my own work and thinking. When you come after a scholar with my background this viciously however it tells me that it is not about the research but about my audacity to speak /2
