In August 2014, After co-organizing a public “Prayer for Ukraine” demo in Donetsk, he was kidnapped and tortured by Russia-led militants. He never fully recovered and died at the age of 59 in 2018. 2/ Here is prof. Igor Kozlovsky, a renowned Donetsk scientist who survived two years in the notorious “Isolyatsia” concentration camp in Donbas. His fault: co-organizing the “Prayer for Ukraine” demo.

In April 2014, they tortured him, then split his stomach, put a backpack full of stones on him and pushed into a river. Just for trying to raise Ukrainian flag.
