When Greece became independent from the Ottoman Empire in 1830, and as Greece expanded over the next century, the long task of reverting mosques into churches.

Here are some of the reverted churches:

Agios Demetrios church in Thessaloniki, constructed in the early 4th century AD, became a mosque in 1493 but was finally reconsecrated into a church in 1949.Image Hagia Sophia Church in Monemvasia dates to about 1150 but turned into a mosque in 1715. As someone married to a non-Greek, I urge Greek youth to seriously think when dating someone from a different culture, not all are progressive. Upsetting your parents by dating an Afghani/Pakistani isn't rebellious, you're regressing into backwardness. An Azov Battalion fighter, who claimed to be Greek (but canā€™t speak Greek), addressed the Greek parliament.

All those who clapped to this should hang their heads in shame that those who oppressed the Greeks of Mariupol were given a platform in parliament. "Including a message from an Azov Battalion member was wrong and inappropriate", said government spokesman Giannis Oikonomou.

Iā€™d say it was VERY APPROPRIATE as it once again exposed the REAL Ukraine that the government and media are trying to pretend is a liberal bastion.

Zelensky asked the Greek Parliament for a Greek-inspired secret society be established in Greece "to save Mariupol."

As much as Greeks in Mariupol want peace and normality to return, I can confidently say they don't want the "normal" to be a resurrection of the Azov Battalion. Zelensky told the the Greek Parliament that "We will not allow Russia to destroy our common cultural heritage [in Mariupol]."

He makes no mention that Mariupol's heritage is of the Russian Empire and Empress Catherine the Great, not Ukraine.

1) Russia says Azov are responsible for the Greek deaths in Mariupol. This aligns with Azov's treatment of Greeks since 2014 despite the naivety to this in Greece, which is proven by Greek media promoting the Azov battalion, who murdered a Greek 2 weeks ago for speaking Russian. 2) The Greek Foreign Ministry said that it has evidence that Russia is responsible for the bombing of Greeks in Sartana. However, it has not yet made that evidence available.

Highlights that the Treaty of Lausanne affirms there's no Turkish minority, but a Muslim one.

1) Terrorist apologist justify the attacks on France because of its 132 years of colonizing Algeria.

Today is Oxi (No) Day where we mythologize Metaxas saying NO to Mussolini's demands that Greece capitulates and becomes an Italian vassal.

Not only were the Italians thrown back into Albania from where they invaded, but the course of World War 2 changed because of Greek heroes. My grandfather Nikos Papathanasiou from Skoteini village in Argolis was 16 years old when the Italians attempted to invade Greece.

When will Turks realize that Erdogan's bravado against Greece is to distract them from the bad economic situation.

While Turkish ships waste fuel in the Aegean attempting to do impossible seismic survey's, Greeks continue to drink frappe on the islands and watch the lira tumble. Turkey's unemployment rate is currently 12.9%.

Unemployment in 2011 was 9.1%.

The 2023 target is 5%.

Will Greece keep Turkish ships out of their Exclusive Economic Zone as they promised?

Will Turkey backdown as it embarrassingly did a few weeks ago? I doubt Erdogan will allow that to happen again.

Serious escalation by Turkey that could lead to conflict. 7 Turkish warships are accompanying the OruƧ Reis research vessel into Greeceā€™s Exclusive Economic Zone. No word just yet on how exactly Greece will respond to this provocation.
