A few weeks ago - I was in Sri Lanka for a short holiday break. Here is a thread about my observations about the country. I accept this is purely on the basis of what I was able to observe as a short term tourist - but still tells us a lot about the country. A thread:
1/7 Roads in SL were nearly at par with any developed country - even in the interior parts of SL. Lane markings and stripes were kept up to the mark almost everywhere. Lanes, shoulders marked meticulously and street signs very clear. Hardly any potholes to speak of.

#Pune So I wqs at a famous misal place in Tulshibag. Been here after a very long time to personally pick up misal. They tell me I need my own container - no exception and going back home just for it wasn't feasible. So I hop across the street to a stainless steel shop. 1/n I ask him for a stainless steel container by showing approx size by hand. First thing he asks..."kiti misal nyaychya ahet (how many misals) 🤣. I was so not expecting that. He said he sells a few containers each day to people like me...My jaw almost hit the floor.
