Gematria is the ancient science of converting letters into numbers. A word or phrase can be converted to a number and then matched against other words or phrases with the same numeric value. The most famous gematria is in Revelations-the number of the beast-666.
It's a simple concept. A=1, B=2, C=3... for what is called the English Ordinal. For every ordinal, there is a reverse ordinal. For English: Z=1, Y=2, X=3... There are many reductions depending upon language and religions.
