Reza Barati was murdered on #Manus #OTD, 17 February, 2014.

Barati, an Iranian Kurdish refugee, detained in an Australian offshore prison camp, was 23 years old.

He died from severe head trauma after being set upon by multiple detention camp guards and employees. #RezaBarati In 2016, two PNG nationals, one who had been employed as a security guard and one as a Salvation Army worker, were convicted of Barati's murder and sentenced to ten years imprisonment. Five years of the sentences were suspended, and credit was given for time served. #RezaBarati
