DETROIT _ Had an interesting experience during what I hope will be my last hospital visit for a while. When it was time for me to be discharged, a clerk came in to get payment for the bill and have me sign a form to consent for doctors to treat me.
/1 I gave her my credit card, but refused to sign a machine not attached to a laminated form. Why? This sentence: I authorize the facility to retain and preserve... specimens for research, scientific, teaching purposes as well as other tests not related to my diagnosis.

In 1961, Fannie Lou Hamer received a hysterectomy by a white doctor without her consent. Two years later, after successfully registering to vote, she and other Black women were arrested for sitting in a “whites-only” bus station restaurant in Charleston, S.C.

Let's try this one more time: @RashidaTlaib did NOT call @MarkMeadows a racist. She pointed out that what he did could be construed as racist. Rather than whine, he could have learned to do better - unless he doesn't want to do better.
