Good and bad news in the new @Nature study on the latest pledges under the Paris Agreement.
First, the good news: If all pledges – up to and including those at #COP26 – were "implemented in full and on time", peak global warming could stay below 2C.
The original study concluded that "the global extinction risk of most coral species is lower than previously estimated”.

This conclusion was based on a new estimated total of "approximately half a trillion corals" inhabiting reefs "spanning the Pacific Ocean biodiversity gradient, from Indonesia to French Polynesia".
