Marília Mendonça, one of the best Brazilian voices of all time (in my opinion), has been killed in a plane crash along with her team. Such a bright, vibrant talent, such a loss for Brazil. g1.globo.com/pop-arte/music… If you don’t know Marília Mendonca, I’d describe her as a kind of country Adele, a singer who achieves golden vocals seemingly effortlessly. Leftists in Brazil are thrilled with the breaking story by the Intercept indicating the Car Wash corruption probe that landed ex-prez Lula in jail was politically motivated.

Brazilian Politics Today: A Thread👇
Congressman @jeanwyllys_real announced yesterday that he’s leaving office because he’s afraid for his life. He’s openly gay & outspoken against new President Bolsonaro. Minutes later, Bolsonaro tweeted “Great day! 👍”.

But there’s more (1/3) (2/3) Bolsonaro’s son & media manager also tweeted “Go with God & be happy!👍”.

Then, he tagged his dad & tweeted a plane emoji, like he was innocently wishing his dad a good trip.

That wasn’t enough so he repeated his dad’s words “Great day!👍” and tweeted a pic of himself.

Several of my favorites are in a rarely-visited area along the south coast of Paraíba state in the Northeast. Pink cliffs juxtapose turquoise waters like a painting, & the forests are awesome for hikes.
