🧵🧵🧵 1/7 I managed to call a friend of mine in Gaza City this evening. He lives approximately half a mile from Al-Shifa Hospital. His sister and her husband lived near the hospital. While they were attempting to flee their home, the IOF shot and killed her husband.
2/7 Now, she and her children are staying with her brother. During our phone call, my friend recounted several harrowing stories detailing the atrocities committed by the IOF during their siege and assault on Shifa.

🧵🧵🧵 1/9 For those who have recently joined the ranks of supporters of the Palestinian cause, it's important to understand that our suffering is far from new. Since its establishment in 1948, Israel has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians (excluding ongoing assault).
2/9 A consistent policy of Israeli, particularly in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, has been the demolition of Palestinian homes. Over decades, Israel has demolished tens of thousands of homes, resulting in the displacement of tens of thousands of Palestinians.

A relative of mine, displaced in Cairo now, called me today to tell me a couple family related stories from Gaza. My relative was forced to leave her home in Gaza with her family following intense Israeli air raids on their neighbourhood that left their home in ruins. 👇🏽
She relocated to her father’s house, also in Gaza City, but had to leave again when her father’s house was partially damaged in an Israeli air raid on his neighbourhood.
She relocated with her family and sick father, and stayed with my wife & i at a small summer home we own 👇🏽

I managed to talk to a good friend of mine in Gaza City today after nearly a month of radio silence. He told me the following horrific story. A house in his neighborhood was raided by the IOF some days ago. They arrested and took away all young women, men and children.

The grandparents, nearly in their eighties, were told to head south. The old lady is physically disabled, her health is fragile and relies on a wheelchair for mobility. Her husband, a blind and hard of hearing old man, also in a frail state of health.

In this thread, i try to explain how we deal with the electricity shortage in #Gaza.
Since 2007 Gazans have been living on a strict diet of eight hours electricity per day, sometimes its six, four, or even two hours. It is not as easy as you might think to pull off.
It requires meticulous planing, knowledge of alternative power sources (operation & maintenance)& a great deal of ingenuity. You must know the schedule of electricity in your neighborhood by heart.

A detailed thread by @NassrZB from #Hebron on the massacre committed inside Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the Palestinian city of Hebron in the occupied #WestBank in 1994.
On the 25th of February 1994 (15th day of the holy month of fasting for Moslems), Baruch Goldstein committed the massacre of the Ibrahimi Mosque in #Hebron during dawn prayers with the help of the Israeli occupation army.
