We're back from lunch in Wisconsin v. Kyle Rittenhouse. We're back to a discussion about Anthony Huber and his "peacefulness" characteristic. The state says it will bring up a specific instance in Huber's past where he displayed "peacefulness." Kraus says this leads to the state's point that Huber was acting to "protect" others on the night of August 25, 2020.

We're back! Judge Bruce Schroeder calls for the jury to re-enter in the case of Wisconsin v. Kyle Rittenhouse. Also of (small) note: the past two days, court has had to break for lunch early, because a food delivery came earlier than expected. Today, Judge Schroeder hopes to avoid that by ordering Subway. Judge Bruce Schroeder: We're back.
And so we begin Day Three of Wisconsin v. Kyle Rittenhouse. We're beginning with the discussion about Juror 7. Judge Schroeder specifies that he travels "differently, because he uses that scooter." Juror 7 uses a motorized scooter to get around. He rides it in and out of the courtroom.

The judge calls for the jury to re-enter. Court is officially back in session. Detective Howard is back on the stand. Howard says he saw photos of Rittenhouse on social media following the shooting. He confirmed Rittenhouse turned himself in to the Antioch Police Department (in Illinois). Howard also testified that Rittenhouse spoke with him and detailed some injuries he had sustained.

We're back in session. Judge Schroeder is calling for the jury to re-enter. Washington takes the stand for redirect from the prosecution. Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger begins his redirect examination of Koerri Washington.

Media and attorneys are now filing into the courtroom. I'm seated directly behind the defendant, Kyle Rittenhouse. This morning, Rittenhouse is wearing a blue suit and is kind of fidgety. Since he entered the courtroom, he has not sat down.

The state calls Koerri Washington to the stand as its next witness. Washington says he was live streaming the Kenosha unrest on August 25, 2020.

Washington: There was a lot happening in the city ... Just to create transparency ... People like myself tend to go out and document situations so that there's a record of things.

We're back from lunch. The first witness called to the stand is Dominick Black. Black says he knows Kyle Rittenhouse as he dated his sister. He also described himself as someone who had hunted since he was a young child, often on his family property in Ladysmith, Wisconsin.

Assistant District Attorney Michael Binger has begun his opening statement for the State of Wisconsin. Binger: On the night of August 25, 2020, here in our community of Kenosha, the defendant, Kyle Rittenhouse, who was 17YO at the time, had armed himself with an AR15 style, semi-automatic rifle with 30 rounds in the magazine.

Judge Bruce Schroeder has called for the jury to be seated, as opening statements will soon begin in WI v. Kyle Rittenhouse. The jury is now being sworn in.
