I am appalled at President Trump's refusal to condemn white nationalists. Not only did Donald Trump not listen to the debate moderator, he spent four years ignoring the needs of the American people. In the debate he spent
more time defending the Proud Boys while failing to address the issues that matter most like protecting the planet, caring for the sick, or fixing structural racism. Pope Francis once wrote the role of a good politician is to be 'genuinely disturbed by the state of society.'

If you’re a new Twitter follower, welcome! I’m Sr. Simone, a Sister of Social Service and Executive Director of @NETWORKLobby (organizers of #NunsontheBus) since 2004. NETWORK has been around much longer -- it was founded nearly 50 years ago by a group of 47 Catholic Sisters
I am a lobbyist, and a lawyer. That’s what NETWORK was founded to do - lobby for more just federal policies. I’m proud to lobby on Capitol Hill with other faith partners b/c if we’re not in Congressional offices, then the wealthy & powerful continue deciding our nation’s policies

George Floyd’s murder by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is another sinful and horrifying act of racism and police brutality in the United States. How many times have we said this should never happen again? And still, (1/7)
abuse of power by a white police officer has led to the death of another innocent Black man. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with George Floyd’s family and friends, and with all who have lost a loved one as a result of white supremacy. (2/7)

A few thoughts on Speaker... We need proven leadership in trying times, and Leader @NancyPelosi is the tested leadership we need.
I have seen @TeamPelosi's political acumen in working with Republicans in Congress and the White House. In turbulent times, she know how to get things done.

Almost every woman I know has a #MeToo moment—often, more than one. I know I do.
I stand in solidarity with brave women speaking up, naming their attacker, and setting the record straight.
