I’m getting a lot of questions (and seeing a lot of memes) about why it’s taking so long to get results in Nevada's Senate race.

This thread is by no means comprehensive, but here are some details about why the count is taking a while: First, delays in election results are expected. Counting mail ballots takes time, and ballots are still arriving through Saturday. There are also specific processes and deadlines required by law.

Mail-in ballots may be a source of the vote-counting delay.

Mail ballots delivered to drop boxes by the close of polls or postmarked on Election Day must be delivered by 5 p.m. Saturday (11/12) to be counted. Voters have until Monday to address any signature issues. (2/10)

In the District 1 Commissioner race, Hill holds 56.09% of the votes whereas Berkbigler has 43.91%

For the District 4 Commissioner race, Hartung has 57.21% of the votes and Baker has 42.79% In the Reno City Council races (so far):

Ward 1 - Brekhus has 50.88% of the vote, Drakulich 49.12%
Ward 3 - Delgado has 62.22% of the votes, Leon 37.78%
Ward 5 - Jardon has 54.09% of the votes, Fink 45.91%
At-large - Reese has 56.02% and Lorton 43.98%

Along with the 14,000 people who have voted today, and the mail-in ballots, etc., the county has a 76% turnout right now as well as a record number of registered voters.
