Happening now: U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer is hearing arguments for California's request to temporarily block President Trump's deployments of troops to Los Angeles. Impeachment trial of suspended AG Ken Paxton is back for week 2.

Senators start this morning in prayer as always, with a focus on remembering the victims of 9/11. Lt. Gov Patrick gives a special nod to Sen. Birdwell, who was in the Pentagon that day 22 years ago. #txlege Each side has a little over 14 hours left of time to present/defend the case. Patrick said both sides could very well be out of time by Thursday, reminds them to use time strategically.
