A lot of grassroots healing programs/initiatives are terrible
I say this as a mental health professional who has done a lot of organizing/activism, and here's why🧵
1. They don't rely on practitioners in the field. Expertise doesn't have to be the center of support, but it should inform what people do. Healing is treated as some sort of creative venture as opposed to something with a standing body of work
