UPDATE: Showed mum the Typhoon patricidal anecdote in Prince Harry’s Spare. And then let her HEAR it from the audiobook.

Wow, guys, wow. You and I pick up a lot, but there’s nothing like a psychiatrist interpreting what is in the subconscious. I’ll be back to tell you later. Remember that no one can interpret or diagnose a person who is not their patient. Having said that, I’ve made some hasty notes from my conversation with my mother, a psychiatrist, specialising in child psychology.

I’m back. This adorable little duo consist of Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques of Monaco. They are the cutest things! And so so close to each other.

Little Prince Jacques looks like his grandma, Grace Kelly of Philadelphia, doesn’t he?

UPDATE: HM Constantine II, King of the Hellenes, being eulogised by his son and Heir, Pavlos, in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens on Monday. His widow, Queen Anne-Marie, born Princess of Denmark, ravaged by grief listening to her son. She had been married in that Cathedral. Wow, now that Queen Anne-Marie is older, I notice the incredible facial resemblance between Queen Sofia, King Constantine’s sister, and herself!

They do say that when men marry, they tend not to choose women who remind them of their mothers, but their sisters.

Patricia Neal, who was married to the writer Ronald Dahl, was part of that cadre of actresses typecast by Hollywood as “The Rich Dame”.

What other American actresses can you think were in that category? Image One actress that immediately comes to mind is Mrs Thurston Howell III, “Lovey” from Gilligan’s Island. Natalie Shafer.

I was watching an old I Love Lucy episode the other day, and saw she played the part of a charm school instructor. Image

Queen Mary and her granddaughter, the future Elizabeth II, at George VI’s coronation. This photo is astonishing, not just because it shows an intimate moment between the two. But because it wasn’t supposed to happen. Queen Dowagers traditionally DO NOT attend coronations. Fellow monarchs are not invited to attend a British coronation, so don’t expect to see any foreign royalty attend King Charles’ coronation next year. The idea is that the British monarch should be the only King or Queen garnering attention that day, a most sacred moment.

🖼 In commemoration of Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II’s first month death anniversary, I present you “The Queen’s Stained Glass Window” at Westminster Abbey.

It was designed by David Hockney and installed in 2018. The Queen’s Window is in the north transept of the Abbey, next to statues of former Prime Ministers (Peel, Gladstone, Disraeli). Hockney chose an idyllic country scene to represent Her Majesty’s vaunted countrywoman tastes.

He designed it on his iPad.

Guys, the PayPal thing. Not good. But I just read that they’ll come after you for your social media posts. This situation is bad enough without adding misinformation and frankly, hysteria, to it. One of the things that really bothers me about the right-wing, especially the Trump variety, is this quality of hysteria that masquerades as concern. I feel so discomfited by it. It might eventually cause me to stop voting. I doubt it. But that’s how I feel at times.

Princess Catherine has recently been giving out major “I want another baby” vibes in public. Every time she sees a wee one in a walkabout, she’s straight off to cuddle them.

I think her biological clock is sending her big time flashing lights. One gets the sense that William and Catherine have spoken about another child. He recently gave her this look when she went to pick up a baby at an event.

If you listen carefully, it almost sounds like she tells him, “Are you going to try tonight?”. 😅

My mention of book reports at school reminds me of what I told a coworker about Oxford. “Remember being assigned a book to read and write a report on for the end of a semester at school”? “Yes.” “Well, that’s a bit like an Oxford tutorial. Only it’s every week, and many books.” Her eyes bugged out to HERE.

People know about King Charles’ views on the environment, and they know he likes gardening. But most people outside of Britain do not know how strongly he feels abt architecture.

Did you know he was the force behind a planned village called Poundbury? It’s brand new. Look at it Image King Charles published a book about his views on modern architecture, most of which he hates. He had once told a group of British architects that we couldn’t blame the Luftwaffe for the ugly new buildings in Britain. The had merely bombed the old ones. WE built the new. Ouch. Image

Every generation was supposed to improve on others. The Greatest Generation wanted their kids to live safely and with food on the table, unlike their own. What happened? Their kids grew up spoilt and dissatisfied with the world. Silent Generation and Early Boomers wanted GenXers to be less passive than they had been and with more stable backgrounds. What happened? GenXers grew up as latch-key kids with divorced parents.

It’s 5 PM and that means it’s 10 PM GMT. Royal news is usually embargoed until this exact time in the U.K. I’m not sure anything will drop though. The only thing which has just been announced is Prince Harry is suing another paper. Sigh. That kid. I know, I know. He’s a man, not a kid. But you have to understand, his birth was the first real royal birth I recall with absolute clarity. More than that. It marked the first time sent a letter of congratulations to a member of the RF.

The Queen Mother.

And she responded.

You know who believed in the British equivalent of Planned Parenthood? Queen Mary. Yes, this Queen Mary. With her tiaras and ropes of pearls and rivers of diamonds.

Here she is giving a piggyback ride to her son George, Duke of Kent (not George VI). Image The Margaret Sanger of Britain was called Marie Stopes. I despise her as much as I do the former.

Did someone mention an Unruly Queen? The thing about TV characters played for dumb laughs is you’d never know one of them was a respected Shakespearean actor, and the other one of the greatest brains on baseball there is.

ROYAL UPDATE: HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal arrived in NYC on Monday to pay a flying visit to the United States. Here she is, on the Bridge of the Staten Island ferry, where commuters were stunned to hobnob with the late Queen's daughter on their way to work! Image We have an expression in England which is used when you are absolutely stunned by something.

"Well send me to the foot of our stairs!!"

Princess Anne, riding the Staten Island ferry, is the last thing I expected today. 😂😂👀
