hey guys I got this perfect diet

The food is dependent on importing food from several states/countries over, because the food is not always seasonally available

Oh, and it requires a complicated, carefully researched series of supplements to not get mal-nurishment..supposedly Oh and this diet has never been practiced by humans throughout our entire existence in any civilization in history, but it's totally the optimal way to eat

Oh and it can get expensive because of all the specialized products you need to maintain it

"There's no evidence for fasting, and its just another fad diet/religion. Just do CICO instead.""

Sigh, fine. You asked for it. Flood gates are open.

THREAD: My Diabetes Conference Experience and the Incompetence of Modern Medicine

So I went to a Diabetes Conference to get insight into the medical field, to see where the mindset of medication prescribing originates. I sat through 4 hours of panels

you're welcome. 2) The lobby offered pastries and fruit for breakfast.
The event was free but the trade off was that the conference was backfunded by YOU GUESSED IT:
BIG PHARMA
The lobby was filled with drug reps pushing the latest greatest medications.
I grabbed a couple cards just for kicks.

THREAD:
Carbohydrates and Athleticism

There is a rift in the keto and fitness community.
"You need carbs to exercise", is the common mindset. Therefore keto and fitness are antagonistic

I get it, its what is taught in academia, carb loading is the standard. Fat is the primary energy in cardio, but the primary energy used in power based exercise is glycogen (carbs!)

On paper, LCHF like keto seems like non-sense for power performance.
No carbs = no power right?

Kinda. First off, you don't have to eat carbs to get glucose

My Problem with Cardio for Fat Loss

"Low intensity cardio = 100% Fat Utilization"
This is objectively true, which is why you see so many people doing slow steady cardio. They wanna lose body-fat.

The mistake is the assumption that the fat utilization is "tangible" in results. The rate of fat oxidation occurring in low intensity cardio is very "efficient", as in, it takes a LONG time to actually use up fat stores in cardiovascular training. This is exactly why endurance athletes are encouraged to become fat adapted.
