I know this was intended to be a joke but Ghazals are actually very structured and once you understand the structure you will love listening to them again and again (1/n)
All Ghazals are a series of couplets. The first and last couplet of a Ghazal are special. The first couplet is called the “Matla”. In the first line of the Matla the poet reveals the poetic structure in the form of the Radeef and Qaafiya. (2/n)

A story, and some personal news at the end of the thread:
Sometime in mid 2013, I got a knock on my office door. It was a young kid who was doing an MBA at Columbia, and was also simultaneously the CEO of a fantasy cricket website he had cofounded in India.
When somebody at the Columbia Business School (I think it was Will @porteous of RRE Ventures who also teaches here) heard the words entrepreneurship and Cricket, he reflexively said "go talk to Vishal in CS". So he came to my office.
