While I greatly respect Prof. PLO Lumumba, I strongly disagree with this narrative.
Having lived in the EU all my life, I tell you there’s rampant corruption & tax evasion. UK, which I call home atm, is currently under the most corrupt gov of its history!

It’s true that Europe has strong institutions. Also true that severe cases of corruption are punished by jail time, but what good does this comparison of incomparable entities do? Most African countries are the product of colonialism & lack historical institution building.
