@realDonaldTrump holds office of President of the United States, like him or not. The office represents the greatest power in the world. His illness affects the world and thus affects the US. 1/5 Putin has already sent message. Xi will not be far behind. They see advantage and this is not good for our national security. 2/5

Get ready for the challenging commentary when @JoeBiden announces VP pick 1/10 She will be called too ambitious, not a team player, too aggressive, hard to work for, too progressive, not progressive enough 2/10

Great to be on @TheLastWord w/@Lawrence and @stengel following @jonathanvswan’s critical interview w/@realDonaldTrump. But a few key points: 1/6 The intel on Russian bounties was in the PDB so if @realDonaldTrump really ever cared about our troops the concern was in the brief he told @jonathanvswan he reads. So dereliction of duty. 2/6

On this Intetnational Women’s Day and my mother’s birthday, I want to honor this woman, my mother, who I didn’t really see until her funeral. 1/7 Mom was a mom who after WWII wanted peace, stability and a family. She married my Dad, an activist extrovert from a complicated family. 2/7

Not all upside. Women worry they are seen as too tough, too aggressive and often default to showing emotion and their ‘feminine’ side to say they are accessible.1/4 Remember how Hillary’s numbers went up when she choked up in a NH diner 2/4

One of my most searing experiences as a diplomat was joining SecState @madeleine on a trip to a Peshawar refugee camp in Pakistan 1/6 Because we were women, we were allowed to meet with the women refugees who had fled the Taliban. Their stories were horrifying. 2/6

Frank Robinson died today. My dad, who courageously rented and sold houses to anyone before any open housing laws, got a call from a baseball player, Frank Robinson, who was coming to Baltimore to play with the Orioles. 1/6 Robinson wanted to live in an integrated neighborhood so his family would be safe and his kids in good schools. That first year, dad could only find a house in Ashburton, an African-American neighborhood 2/6

I’ve never fallen in love with brutal authoritarian leaders @realDonaldTrump and certainly not the leader of NK. I did however come close to a tough deal with Kim Jong-Il in 2000. It was a hard failure to accept. The pain of a deal getting away is proportional to how close you come. I began negotiating with NK @BillClinton in 1997 after they tested longer range missiles and shipped technology to Iran. Then NK flew a test missile over Japan.

Sec. Pompeo tried to distract from Manafort and gain points with president by attacking me today. Facts were wrong, message was wrong. I met Zarif in Munich but not with Kerry and Moniz. Met Zarif again in NY in April. See page 213 from my book below: Image Made it a practice to give my successor Amb. Tom Shannon heads up and debrief on messages delivered: Image
