Alright ya’ll, we need to talk.

Several of our staffers recently admitted that they have toilet brushes that are 5+ years old. If you have an old toilet brush, we promise we’re not judging you. In our experience, your brush will likely start to show signs of wear after 6 months to a year if you're cleaning your toilet regularly—but as long as the bristles aren't bent, falling out or discolored, you can hold off on getting a new brush.

🆕 It’s not made by Apple, but the Zagg Pro Stylus matches most of the benefits of Apple’s Pencil and even exceeds them in some ways. wrctr.co/3qii7l5 This is no small feat, as every non-Apple stylus lacks the Pencil's greatest strength: hardware-&-software integration

Bc Apple makes the Pencil, iPad, iPadOS, & software kits, the Pencil can take advantage of more features, although the list of unique functions has shrunk.

🍽 Alright, home appliance nerds, it's time for some dishwasher theory 🌀

Here's how dishwasher efficiency (barely) changed under Trump

// THREAD // wrctr.co/3e3X5Em In October 2020, the Trump administration passed a new rule for dishwasher efficiency, claiming that:

• it would undo “burdensome regulations” that made dishwashers slow and weak

and

• it would “allow Americans to wash dishes in under an hour!"

Let's get one thing straight: The best way to reduce fogging on glasses while wearing a face mask is to improve the seal between the top of the mask and your skin.

But if you still experience fogging, anti-fog drops might help. (So might soap or spit.) wrctr.co/2NUskqt Long used for occupational safety & recreational sports, anti-fog agents like balms, drops, sprays, & wipes are meant to repel or evenly distribute fog so you can better see through your lenses.

Trouble is, not all of them work that well, or for very long.

(🧻 mini-thread) So, what makes a good deal on toilet paper?

According to the co-creator of the Toilet Paper Value Calculator: “After looking at hundreds of data points, I came to the conclusion that the deal price for quality toilet paper is:

0.253¢ per sheet." So to receive a *passing grade* on the TPVC, the toilet paper in question has to cost <0.253¢ per sheet

To get an *A-rating*, it must beat the TP roll that TPVC co-creator Victor Ly has deduced to be the king of bath tissue deals:

Toilet paper manufacturers often use confusing terms to describe the strength & efficacy of their products.

So 2 hobbyist deal hunters, frustrated by unquantifiable TP marketing, created a calculator to determine which options are actually a good deal. wrctr.co/3dLdpcZ Descriptors like “jumbo,” “super,” and “mega” are hard to quantify.

Some companies claim that one roll of their toilet paper is now the equivalent of four, or that their toilet paper is stronger or capable of cleaning better than the competition.

(THREAD) As COVID-19’s spread has prompted an expansion of work-from-home policies across various industries, the use of more-pervasive monitoring software, also known as “tattleware” or “bossware,” has increased. The idea is simple:

Once the software is installed, an employer has deeper access & even live monitoring tools for everything you do on your computer.

This includes which applications you open, what websites you visit, and how much time you spend doing different activities.

Yep. A few years ago, we said that all printers suck.

In 2021, we're still saying that. Instead of finding the "best" printer, it comes more down to finding the "least-terrible" printer.

So here's a mini-thread on why all printers suck: Like most things in life that you have no control over, you’ll be happier if you accept printers for the janky money pits that they really are.

Most of you are going to hate something about any printer that you buy, & there’s nothing you can do about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
