Hey, #ClassicsTwitter, including @apistone, and other experts in sympotic culture. What's with εωλοκρασία? I get that it's the left over dregs etc. But I can't figure out what LSJ's going on about with "dosing" of the drunken?perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/morph?l… 1/3
I've chased down a lot of the appearances in TLG, (including the reference to didymos' etymology and interpretation) but in my quick skims I'm not finding much that explains why "pouring dregs over someone" is a resonant metaphor. 2/3
