A parent challenges anti-racism teaching, to which the school responds with links to "understand white supremacy," with recycled, debunked cultish claims as the following: Look at this smorgasbord of fancy words that means nothing when put together. White supremacy is linked to all the other oppressions, all intersected in a toxic brew, an addiction that impacts all uniquely and collectively.

Well, I'm definitely infected. Come preach AA to me.

So typical of the mainstream to cast doubt & stir up division by slashing the “far right, white supremacy” label on anything/anyone that dissents.

An anti-woke civics framework sounds like a good idea. 🧐

salon.com/2022/07/08/rig… 2/ As a steering committee member of American Birthright, I am proud to promote this superb set of K-12 history, social studies & civics standards. There is nothing wrong with teaching our children the birthright of liberty, or individualism, religious freedom, self-government.

My latest:

@adwooldridge is correct in arguing that despite its flaws, meritocracy remains the best system for organizing human societies...Meritocracy is not a panacea, but it is the most successful vehicle for progress.
mindingthecampus.org/2022/05/23/wha… @adwooldridge 2/Debunking meritocracy has become a ritualistic exercise in trendy equity training sessions. Characteristics such as hard work, personal initiative, and grit are only myths and vehicles of privilege that perpetuate structural inequities.

Parents, are you comfortable with your young child(ren) answering these questions in an "equity survey"?

San Dieguito UHSD did a mandatory DEI training for its board. A question was asked "Why do Asian kids do well in schools?" To which the superintendent replied: "people who're able to make the journey to America are wealthy." tinyurl.com/deiasian 2/. During the training, Superintendent Cheryl James-Ward floated this wild theory that Asian kids in her area are mostly from China and they possess emotional capital, financial capital... to outperform others. Your thoughts? @ConceptualJames @AsraNomani @XVanFleet

True story:
A 1st grader drew a pic of kids holding 🙌 & wrote All Live Matters on it, triggering her “classmate of color.” Classmates’ parents lodged a complaint & the incident got escalated & the little girl was made to apologize.
What happened? @_BarringtonII @ConceptualJames 2/Surprisingly, the little girl’s parents were not informed of this “racist incident.” They found out after being confronted by the parents of the triggered classmate for their alleged white supremacy. A little girl was shamed & scapegoated to coddle woke fragility & appease BLM

"Check your privilege" programs, which have mushroomed since the 2010s, tun inward self-reflections on one's spirituality into public displays of forced virtue and political loyalty.
No surprise that the concept was coined by a women's studies "scholar" in the late 80s. @ConceptualJames @Moms4Liberty @LeonydusJohnson @CHSommers @FreeBlckThought @AsraNomani 2/Rather than anchoring "privilege," a rather fluid and subjective notion, in one's personal journey, the fluffy "check your privilege" paradigm arbitrarily pegs it to racism, sexism, ageism... It is insulting, disempowering and silly. Let me tell you why.

🔥 Kaiser Permanente, the largest managed care organization in 🇺🇸, mandates DEI training for its CA employees. Kaiser calls race, sex, orientation... “internal dimensions of diversity,” attributes too many Asian accountants to unconscious bias, and urges equitable health care.🧵 2/ In the name of “Providing Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in California,” the health care giant fashions itself also as a social scientist, who traces all health disparities to bias and racism. Paradoxically, all racial categories are arbitrary abstractions.

The #diversity craze is nothing new. Neither is its #dissent.

"The plain fact is that the richness and unpredictability of genuine human diversity cannot be encompassed by a few caricatures, even if they are very well intentioned." -Richard Bernstein, 1994 "Valuing Diversity imagines a world of diversity in which, paradoxically, everybody will have more or less the same ideas, the same philosophy, the same vaguely liberal political convictions, the same notions of the equality of all peoples, all sexes, and all sexual practices..."

🙈 The Governing Board at Paloma College in San Diego is pushing for a DEI reform with:
1. Unconstitutional preferences: black space, diverse hiring of black faculty, extra support for “LatinX/ESL/undocumented” students.
2. Ethnic studies requirement.
3. Anti-racism foundation. ImageImageImage 2/ CRT puritans want to distance their academic altar from its real-life applications. But look at the mushrooming DEI/racial equity/anti-racism craze--- can you honestly say that ideas have no consequences?!

🧵The Nueva School in Bay Area, tuition $30-50k, is going all in for CRT: it has an Anti-racist Strategy, a Task Force on Racial Equity & Accountability w. "a specific focus on the Black community," and it's in need of a "constructivist" middle school math teacher... 2/The math teacher must "demonstrate a commitment to social justice, equity and inclusion through pedagogy and incorporate an anti-racist and anti-oppressive lens into teaching practice." @ConceptualJames Do you have students that fit the profile?

☠️ If the "rebuttal" to CRT's "race essentialism" is the notion that race is a social construct, is "abolishing the white race" then just an abolitionist (not racial) practice to decenter Enlightenment values associated with social whiteness? Does this make it less racist? Image 2/In other words, does the excuse justify a revolutionary end goal to transform power to the racialized oppressed via a puritan purge of "white supremacist" ideas such as individualism, hard-work, merit, rationality... ? Isn't associating these ideas with whiteness racist?

🔥🧵📰 Yesterday, Eanes Independent School District in Austin, TX had a board meeting to discuss DEI. Again, DEI is a codename for CRT. Courageous parents from diverse backgrounds rallied against intrusion of taxpayer-funded DEI in this top-tier district and called out the lies. His conclusion? "There was a race issue that made students of color feel excluded and/or unwelcomed."
