A lot of things happening in #ElSalvador’s legislative assembly today w/#Bukele’s #NuevasIdeas in complete control.

$1 billion loan approved through Interamerican Development Bank (IDB).

This is major & U.S. government backed. 1/ After slew of privatization in first decades of the post-war period, Salvadorans organized in mass to push back to save healthcare, water, education from pro-corporate restructuring & plunder. US embassy & IDB have always insisted on ignoring the will of the masses on this. 2/

Despite mass organizing & wide disapproval of dollarization, CAFTA & pro-privatization policies (intended to privilege the private sector w/in essential goods & services... bc you know... trickle down blah blah blah)...
