Whilst there are plenty of posters and stickers of protest art, there are also large statement pieces. These range from big pieces of graffiti, Lennon walls or unique art pieces. Here I'll thread my favourite statement art pieces. This #BirdFoldingChallenge piece was particularly striking. Beautifully arranged in a circular shape, by peaceful protesters. And just a few blocks away blackbloc protesters were gathering, ready for a confrontation.

Graffiti is becoming more common across Hong Kong. You can often see it in protest hotspots, but it is becoming increasingly common in neighborhoods which are not hotspots. Here I will thread the graffiti I come across, starting with these seen at HKU.

Graffiti isn't limited to messages scrawled with a can, there is also a lot of great stencil art. Quick and effective. These were a few spotted sprayed on the ground.

Posters are really popular around Hong Kong, especially on the Lennon Walls and "Lennon-floors",, but STICKERS are also popular.

This will be my thread for protest related stickers I see.

As someone with a lot of ties to the West, I've known of Pepe as a character who became associated with the alt-right. However, he has become a famous face of the Hong Kong protests. Here I will thread the Pepe's I come across in the wild and any discussion articles I find. This SCMP article has great insight into why Pepe is a protest mascot. He was once popular around the world as a meme, and whilst he was co-opted by the alt-right in the West, this never happened to Pepe in Hong Kong, so he continues to be a popular icon.
