Tonight (Mar 25, 7:30pm), Town of #RichmondHill Council will decide on a motion introduced by Councillor @DavidWestRH to begin all council meetings with a #landacknowledgment. Come out to Town of Richmond Hill Council Chamber (225 East Beaver Creek) to support the motion!
I've lived in Richmond Hill for most of my life so this is important to me. I just emailed the entire Town of #RichmondHill Council about supporting this motion. It is one of the first steps towards #truth and #reconciliation but it is not the last.
It is time that this town joins this movement in truth, relationship and #healing. It is time that the citizens of #RichmondHill begin learning about #IndigenousPeoples and building relationships with #IndigenousCommunities.
