🆘A 3rd boat in distress reached out to #AlarmPhone from Greek waters, carrying 35 people. Authorities are informed & near the boat but not rescuing. The people said: “They are only making waves! We are very afraid! Now they are driving away from us. Please help, we need help.”

The 35 people in distress off the coast of Lesvos sent us this GPS position at 13.58h CET: 39.2390963, 26.5381419.
According to the migrant travellers, there are 11 children among them.

@HCoastGuard, how can you just watch their distress without rescuing?

@HCoastGuard Moments ago, we spoke to the 35 people in distress again. They say that water is entering their boat and that the situation is deteriorating. They sent us this picture, showing a naval ship right next to them. A case of non-assistance while the world is watching!

@HCoastGuard The ship right next to the #migrant boat is an asset of @Frontex, the #EU border agency. Nobel peace prize laureate #EU is involved in systemic violations of human rights. @EU_Commission and @vonderleyen – we know that you are watching while people in distress at sea suffer.

@HCoastGuard @Frontex @EU_Commission @vonderleyen The people are still in distress and it is getting dark at sea! People on shore can see the boat from #Lesvos. @Frontex and the @HCoastGuard are still near-by but are just watching while 35 people suffer! Rescue them, now!

The people on the boat are bravely rowing with their bare hands towards the shore but they say: “now we cannot go ahead, it's too cold & too dark, we can not see anything. Our boat has a hole & water is coming".
Is #Frontex just going to passively witness a potential shipwreck?

They keep on calling & desperately asking for help. They say they are freezing, their clothes are wet & they cannot go on. The children are crying. The shore is just a few miles away & the Frontex vessel in the area is still not intervening. #Europe, this violence has to end now!

Greek authorities in #Mitilini told us that the people were just rescued & will disembark on #Lesvos soon. Letting them wait so long at risk of drowning was torturous. Now, another hell expects them in overcrowded & dangerous camps in Lesvos. These violent borders have to fall!
