3. When we compare the % of women in journalism with the % of women in top editorial positions, we find a strong and positive correlation. And yet, in 9 out of 10 markets, there are many more women working as journalists than women among the top editors #HappyWomensDay2020
4. We find no meaningful correlation between gender inequality in society and the % of women in top editorial positions. Countries like Germany and South Korea that score well on the UN Gender Inequality Index have very few women among the top editors #IWD2020
5. There is a notable variation in the % of people who get news from outlets with a female top editor in the 10 markets covered. It ranges from a high of 77% in South Africa๐ฟ๐ฆ to 0% in Japan๐ฏ๐ต. Look at the chart #IWD2020 #InternationalWomensDay #HappyWomensDay2020
