The Maze ransomware group attacked the medical research company, Hammersmith Medicines Research (HMR) on the morning of Saturday 14 March 2020
Hammersmith Medicines Research operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It conducts first and second state clinical trials on new drugs and vaccines. It is preparing to conduct trails of Covid-19 vaccines when they are developed.
HMR tells us it was able to contain the attack by #Maze #ransomware and restore its IT systems and email on the same day. But this was not before Maze had downloaded thousands of confidential medical files, and copies of passports and driving licences of former patients.

On Monday 23 March #Maze #ransomware appeared to have made the right decision by taking down over 2,300 medical and ID records of former patients at #HMR medical research company from the internet. #coronavirus #COVIDー19
