And away we go. @GovHolcomb is joined by @SenatorBraun for today's #coronavirus briefing.

Braun is in Jasper, not in the governor's office.

Box: @StateHealthIN later today will add 79 "presumptive" #coronavirus deaths, on people who weren't tested but did have X-rays, CT scans, etc. supporting diagnosis. They'll appear on ISDH website in separate column, and will bring death toll to 820.

Update on @IUPUI study announced yesterday: Box says they've been getting calls from people wanting to volunteer, but this is a don't-call-us-we'll-call-you study; they need a scientifically random sample and already have their list.

Update on @Regenstrief study of #COVID19 recovery rates, with more data points: 67% of patients recovered at home. 6% went to ER and weren't admitted, 2% admitted but didn't require intensive care, 25% to ICU.

Among those hospitalized: 80% discharged, 14% died, 6% still there.

Holcomb, as he has before, thanks Hoosiers for the sacrifices they've made "over the last 3, 4...5? Feels like years." (It's 4+ weeks.) Holcomb says it's made a difference, and has enabled Indiana to plan for emerging from the #coronaviruslockdown.

Holcomb reminds that Monday is first step out of lockdown, when #hospitals are allowed to resume elective procedures. Broader lockdown order is scheduled to expire next Friday.

A bakery in New Salem sent Holcomb a package of cookies. He regifts them to Box before opening Q&A.

Holcomb says state will post standards next week for reopening; they'll vary among different establishments (schools, churches, salons, restaurants, "and on and on and on"). Could include rules on employee absences. He says state will be transparent about what's needed.

Holcomb says he won't order release of data on how many #coronavirus cases in individual nursing homes. He says they're private entities operating under state rules. (State has issued aggregate data, but has refused to link to individual facilities, as other states have.)

Holcomb says to expect White House announcement of additional federal help to nursing homes.

Dept of Correction chief medical officer Kristen Dauss denies @PostTrib report that 92% of inmates @ Westville prison have #coronavirus. She says it's 1%, w/another 16% in quarantine because they had contact with the 130 infected inmates.1 inmate has died (+2 more in Plainfield).

Holcomb says he talked today with @GovMikeDeWine and @GovAndyBeshear, comparing notes on expanding testing, opening elective surgeries, retailers.

Box says some people have called ISDH to ask about injecting disinfectant. "We have told them that is not something we recommend."

.@SenatorBraun adds, "When you're not clear about how you say things, it's probably better not to venture into areas you don't know about."

Holcomb reinterjects, "Apply those #disinfectants disinfectants to surfaces, not to yourself. They work."
