Barring misbehavior this weekend, I think I have put the finishing touches on the last two preview stories of this primary campaign. Thank you all for following along. And please ignore the thud and loud snoring on Wednesday.

For @NEGOP voters, there’s not a ton at the top of the ballot other than @BenSasse’s race with @InnisForSenate.

Read about that here:

omaha.com/news/local/may…

For @NebraskaDems voters there’s a little more choice on the menu, starting with a seven-way #NESen primary with a lot of new faces.

Here’s that story:

omaha.com/news/local/dem…

On the GOP side in #NE02, @DonJBacon faces nominal opposition from perennial candidate Paul Anderson, who hasn’t raised or spent the $5,000 to trigger filing an Federal Election Commission report.

See that race’s fundraising here:

omaha.com/news/local/mon…

It’s a different story on the Democratic Party side in #NE02, where @karaforcongress, @Ann_Ashford and @Gladys4Congress are waging a three-way fight to face @DonJBacon.

Health care is a key divider in that race. Read that story here:

omaha.com/livewellnebras…

My colleagues @OWHnews helped write each of three profiles on the @NebraskaDems running in #NE02 to help folks make their own decisions.

I’ll start with mine on @karaforcongress:

omaha.com/news/local/kar…

And here is @ErinGraceOWH’s profile of @Gladys4Congress in #NE02:

omaha.com/news/local/oma…

Then there’s the #NE01 @NebraskaDems primary race down in #Bellevue, #Lincoln and much of eastern Nebraska outside of #Omaha.

Here’s our story previewing that race to see who might face @JeffFortenberry:

omaha.com/news/local/sen…

#Nebraska’s unique nonpartisan Legislature spurs so many good races so often that it’s hard to choose. But I don’t know any primary more interesting than this proxy fight between @GovRicketts and former Gov. Dave Heineman. #NEleg

From @PaulHammelOWH:

omaha.com/news/nebraska-…

Down the ballot, there’s a heck of a @u_nebraska regents race brewing between Jack Stark and Mike Kennedy. @RickRuggles has a fun one:

omaha.com/news/education…

At the local level, here in Douglas County, there’s a tremendous set of races for county board tied to the future of juvenile justice in #Omaha.

From @CHRISBURBACH:

omaha.com/news/local/13-…

And last and far from least is the local issue that will have a lot of tongues wagging around #Omaha. The first of what could be several $200 million road improvement bonds for the city.

Read the story from @reecereports:

omaha.com/news/local/oma…

Then there’s the whole drama of having to change how candidates campaign during #coronavirus.

Read the story here:

omaha.com/livewellnebras…

And changing how many #Nebraskans vote, answering calls by @GovRicketts and @NEvnen and party leaders to vote by mail to slow the spread:

omaha.com/news/state_and…

It’s now pretty obvious that #Nebraska residents responded, requesting more vote by mail ballots than people have ever voted in one of the state’s primary elections.

omaha.com/news/state_and…

But @GovRicketts and @NEvnen have been adamant that #Nebraska will still offer voting on Election Day, Tuesday, May 12. So we started asking questions about polling places, poll workers and how all this would work.

omaha.com/news/local/gov…

We checked back in with county and state election officials, and younger, healthier people responded to the call for more poll workers. It now sounds like most every poll will be open.

omaha.com/news/state_and…

Only about 25,000 regular primary voters did not request a ballot by mail, so crowds could be pretty sparse.

If you’d like to check whether your polling place moved, here’s where you can on the Secretary of State’s website.

I’ll add any stories I missed as I can. Thank you and happy voting!

Oh, another personal favorite: School board races, like these, from @emily_nitcher:

omaha.com/news/education…

Here’s a good #NEleg race in #Lincoln that @stoddardOWH wrote about:

omaha.com/news/state_and…

Hat tip to @emily_nitcher for reminding me about the race to replace Sen. Ernie Chambers. Seven candidates.

From @PaulHammelOWH:

omaha.com/news/seven-can…

And then the latest round of bond issues, for voters who like to dig in.

Story from @JoeDejka:

omaha.com/news/education…

Our final two pre-election stories @OWHnews, barring something unexpected.

First, a little primer for #Omaha-area voters in the #NE02 @NebraskaDems primary involving @karaforcongress, @Ann_Ashford and @Gladys4Congress.

Four issues that separate them:

omaha.com/news/local/fou…

Last and far from least, here is how this #ElectionDay will look and feel different, from where to vote to how you'll stand in line, assuming there is one.

From @OWHnews:

omaha.com/news/local/wha…

Hat tip on this story form to my former @OWHnews colleague @roseannmoring. This was her idea to boil down months of coverage into something more digestible.

She was right.
