The election deposit is S$13,500 (US$9,670) per candidate. Payment to be made before 12 noon on Nomination Day. If a candidate (in a Single Member Constituency) or a team (in a Group Representation Constituency) fail to secure at least 12.5% of the vote, they forfeit the deposit.
#Singapore's Group Representation Constituency system mandates that at least one member in the team of candidates must be from a particular minority group (either Malay, or Indian and Others); there are community committees who will certify a minority candidate is a minority
