2/6 Resilience is a word that we have all come to understand in a deeper way as we face #COVID19 in our communities. It implies courage, tenacity and collaboration, and is the theme of the 2020 @AIDS_conference, which ends today.
3/6 A virtual event this year, the conference brought together the HIV community, scientists, advocates, health providers & others to celebrate the resilience of those living with & affected by HIV, and to discuss challenges & advances in the HIV response.
4/6 A beacon in the fight to #EndStigma, the HIV community’s provision of culturally appropriate care & support, particularly in Indigenous communities, has served as models and improved responses to other health challenges, including #COVID19.
5/6 In the face of #COVID19 the HIV community has continued to seek innovative ways to safely deliver care, treatment & support. Recent reports that access to life-saving medicine, has been negatively impacted are concerning.
6/6 Working together we can overcome these setbacks and move forward through our shared resilience. #ResilientTogether #AIDS2020Can
