Peter Morley: I've gone to D.C. 32 times, but my first trip was when McCain cast his vote for the #ACA. It's hard to believe that was three years ago.

Peter Morley: I always say our voices matter; perhaps John McCain heard a constituent's story that resonated with him. He did have inoperable cancer at that point. His decision was last-minute--he want into the vote planning to vote thumbs down.

Peter Morley: I wanted to do everything in my power to be there {D.C.]. My birthday is July 26; I know exactly what I was thinking b/c I'd put my b'day celebration on hold knowing that I needed to do something for healthcare. It was a spontaneous trip.

Peter Morley: Everybody was out on the streets and almost no one was in the Congressional building--I felt like I was one of the only ones there. The healthcare advisors were sitting around with nothing to do.

Rick: Since McCain's vote, what has that meant for you?
Peter Morley: Since then, I've tried to educate people what the ACA is as a policy. It strengthens Medicare, Medicaid, & CHIP. The most important part to me is the preexisting conditions clause.

Peter Morley: COVID-19 is now a pre-existing condition. The tests are allegedly being covered but we don't know about all the issues people are experiencing, & they may suffer from them for the rest of their lives.

Peter Morley: I'm constantly bringing people's stories with me to D.C. I also make sure people are calling their elected officials. I feel like I need to constantly be bringing healthcare awareness to the forefront.

Peter Morley:I have zero faith in Donald Trump. He is an absolute liar.He instructed the Dept of Justice to back a coalition of Republican attorneys to have this lawsuit against the #ACA. Every time Trump says he wants to protect pre-existing conditions, he's lying

Peter Morley: Trump is such an egomaniacal human being; if there were a GOP healthcare plan, he'd be touting it everywhere & he'd be calling it Trumpcare. There is no plan.

Peter Morley: The #ACA is far from perfect. Democrats will say that. I have not seen any Dems or Repubs work to fix the ACA. Fixing the ACA could unite us all together.

Peter Morley: Like I always say, YOUR story matters. Your story does make a difference, just like that constituent's story may have made a difference with John McCain. I encourage everyone to please call your representative & share your healthcare story.
