Shri Ram – The One and Only Purushottam

1/n

As you all know, the most awaited temple is being built in Ayodhya after a long battle in and out of courts. Ram Janma Bhumi might be just three words for many or just a place but for billions, it is the ray of hope, as a

2/n

place of reverence and pride, a place to bow down the head and forget your being in front of the divine presence.

This day did not come without efforts and sacrifices. Countless people fought the battle in and outside of various courts. Mothers and wives lost their

3/n

support as many brave souls sacrificed their lives for this day, they made an ultimate sacrifice so that you can get a chance to bow your head in the temple and light a Diya.

The age-old temple at Shri Ram’s birthplace was destroyed by Babur in 1528 and replaced with a

4/n

mosque as an act of aggression and oppression by an invader. Babur was particularly cruel against Hindus.

The first effort to regain the possession was done in 1853 by Nirmohi Akhada, the then British administration divided the land into two parts, one for Hindus and

5/n

one for Muslims.

In 1883 there was another effort to build the temple but the local administration denied it. Then the matter was placed in the court for the first time.

In 1949, the premises was locked by the government recognising it as a disputed site.

6/n

In 1986 the government opened the site for Hindus to worship.

In October and November 1990, the police under Mulayam Singh’s government opened fire on Karsevaks, killing thousands. It’s a black part of history where thousands of lives were lost. Bread earners, sons,

7/n

fathers lost their lives. We should never forget this ultimate sacrifice. Let us light a Diya in remembrance of those brave souls.

In 1992, the disputed structure was demolished by karsevaks.

In 2003, ASI submitted a report stating there is a 10th-century Hindu temple

8/n

under the mosque. The same findings were submitted in 1970 and 1992 as well.

In 2010, Allahabad High Court gave a decision for dividing the land into three parts and giving it for Temple, mosque and to Nirmohi Akhada.

Finally, on November 9, 2019, a five judge bench

9/n

of the Supreme Court ruled that the government should create a trust to build Ram Temple and 5 acres of land to be given for a mosque at a separate location.

On February 5, 2020, a trust was created by the government of India for the Temple.

10/n

The Trust Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has been working since then.

Finally the day every Hindu has been waiting for, the day of Bhumi Poojan. On August 5, 2020, The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi layed the foundation brick at 12:44:08 in the noon.

9/n

A promise he kept since 1992, that he will visit Ayodhya only when the construction of Ram Temple is possible.

What Ram Temple means to Hindus
Social media is buzzing with enthusiasm, everyone is talking about it. Why not? Shri Ram is called ‘Maryada Purshottam’,

10/n

the one you look up to, the one you get inspiration when needed, the one you should follow. The bright star of Sanatan Dharma! Almighty Vishnu himself!!

It is said in many Holy Scriptures that one should always remember his roots. A tree falls when its roots become weak,

11/n

so don’t be that tree. This Ram Temple is uniting Hindus not just in India, but all over the world. People are rejoicing and celebrating.

Finally, Deepawali has come to Ayodhya.
