In line with the vision of @NigeriaGov to curb poverty and boost productivity in different parts of Nigeria, @geep_ng has provided palliative microloans to 87,614 petty traders hit by #COVID19 pandemic in 20 states of the country in the first phase of disbursement.

These palliative microloans have helped petty traders revive their businesses, as the government eases #lockdown measures nationwide.
The second phase of the disbursement will target 412,386 petty traders across the country.

On getting the loans, a number of beneficiaries expressed their relief and appreciation for the palliative.
Blessing Mohammed, a plantain seller at Obalende, Lagos got the loan and she was able to restart her plantain business that had stopped during the #lockdown.
"We earn a living from daily buying &selling, but people have not been able to come out because of #COVID19. We got a message from our local government to register for this loan. The loan will help our business now that the lockdown has been lifted"- Isioma Otodo, a Lagos trader.
Mrs Taiwo, another petty trader from Lagos, explained that the money she got from @geep_ng is a big relief at this time, expressing appreciation to @NigeriaGov for supporting her at this period of economic downturn occasioned by #COVID19.
