Days 169-171 - #COVID19 in Iran
Picking up from 3 days ago:
In case you need to know more about me:
Or my methods:
[Current Outlook/1]
We have now passed the peak of the 2nd wave and all metrics "very gradually" are falling: daily deaths, patients in critical conditions, Qom's admitted or Tehran's daily admissions, even deaths among health professionals. All falling albeit slowly.
[Current Outlook/2]
In a few days I will have an analysis of the 2nd wave but generally, the 2nd wave was much worse due to no lockdown this time. It took ~3 months from the early start to the peak.
[Current Outlook/3]
Now we have started to get only "a couple" of news regarding resurgence of the numbers in areas where it had already gone down a month ago such as Bushehr. Whether this is a worrying trend or just a random event we need to see.
[Current Outlook/4]
#important Bear in mind, all provinces affected during the 1st wave in the end got heavily involved during the 2nd wave although with a noticeable delay. Whether this is due to waning immunity or simply affecting the rest of the population, we do not know.
[Current Outlook/end]
So all that remains is whether authorities will skip this year's Moharram/Ashura ceremonies. If they do, I expect numbers to gradually fall down and we reach the 2nd nadir in a month.
Ground reports from Tehran hospitals confirms the situation has indeed improved. My contacts in Khuzestan also confirm that the numbers are at pre-2nd wave levels.
Sadly we are still seeing medical staff falling prey to this virus, being at the forefront of care for the sick.
Foruzan Hakim Shafaei, a nurse in Bojnurd passed away due to COVID
Somayyeh Poorghaz, midwife in Aliabad, Golestan province
Asghar Isa Abadi, physiotherapist in Tehran

Leaving you with this:
After flower oil, camel's urine, wasp's sting now is the time for unveiling Salt. This "specialist" says "I have this salt shaker in my pocket and when I see someone coughing, I just use it" [how?? sniffing it??]
