Seriously, how is this going to repair @SteveFDA's reputation? He's a doctor & #COVID19 #convalescentplasma misstatements were his.
Is he pinning that on the PRs? Is he going to say the PRs came up with his lame excuses for why he made those false claims?
Again, he's a doctor?
This was all @SteveFDA, a doctor who should have known better [and maybe really did] about what he was saying about the #ConvalescentPlasma data in #COVID19
This was @SteveFDA making his excuses for his misleading information about #ConvalescentPlasma in #COVID19, not his #FDA PRs. He was the one out there saying these things cbsnews.com/video/fda-comm…
This was also @SteveFDA here making his excuses for his false information about #ConvalescentPlasma in #COVID19 -- again, not the #FDA PRs speaking. This was all Hahn bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
And is that 1 @Scaramucci for Emily Miller nytimes.com/2020/08/28/hea…
But again, it was @SteveFDA - a doctor/cancer researcher - who was speaking before American people last Sunday with false information about #ConvalescentPlasma in #COVID19 & his later excuses, not his #FDA PR.
“I did recommend that he correct the record,” said the consultant, Wayne L Pines, who said he wasn’t told why his contract was severed.“If a federal official doesn’t say something right& chooses to clarify & say that the criticism is justified, that’s refreshing,” Mr. Pines said.
.@SteveFDA's excuse for his misleading information on #ConvalescentPlasma in #COVID19: "What I should have said better is that the data show a relative risk reduction not an absolute risk reduction."
He's a doctor/cancer researcher.
More from @SteveFDA explaining his false/misleading Aug. 23 #ConvalescentPlasma statements: "At the end of the day, I know my patients never cared about relative versus absolute benefits. They just wanted to understand if the juice is worth the squeeze." bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
PRs know they are always vulnerable to take the blame for any public debacles by their bosses.
But come on, @SteveFDA is a doctor/cancer researcher.
This was him Aug. 23 on #ConvalescentPlasma in #COVID19 at the White House, not his #FDA PRs.
Are they going to claim Miller also put words into @SecAzar's mouth, too, where he also made false/misleading claims about #ConvalescentPlasma in #COVID19 patients?
He's the HHS secretary.
And @SteveFDA is a doctor.
A PR is a PR.
hhs.gov/about/leadersh…
They had to fire somebody. So why not the PR who has had a bunch of negative articles about her in the past few days?
.@SteveFDA is a doctor/cancer researcher. If he didn't know what he was saying publicly to Americans, what does that say about his skills & leadership at #FDA?
