Indiana records its 100,000th #coronavirus case, with 596 new cases pushing the total to 100,394.

The 596 new cases are the fewest in 19 days, reflecting the usual post-weekend dip. (That dip will last longer this week due to #LaborDay, which also is probably the reason ISDH's
daily update is out much later than usual.)

Four newly reported #coronavirus deaths bring Indiana's death toll to 3,144. Counting presumptive #COVID19 deaths, the total death toll is 3,368.

The 7-day positivity average, which runs a week behind, holds steady at 5.4% (all tests) and 7.4% (unique patients). Today's batch was 4.1% positive among all tests, lowest since ISDH began using that metric 3 weeks ago; among unique patients, the rate is 7.6%, lowest in 3 days.

771 Hoosiers are hospitalized with #coronavirus, 20 more than yesterday, which erases yesterday's 20-patient drop. The last three days' tallies are the lowest since July 14. 235 patients are in intensive care, four more than yesterday.

Today is the first time the daily county positivity report is in sync with the new weekly #COVID score map, which incorporates cases per capita. Despite that, there are still discrepancies, presumably because some older tests came in after the scores were compiled a week ago:

The daily positivity report shows 7 counties over 10%, one fewer than the #COVID score map's orange and red counties. Five counties are on both lists, and St. Joseph is pushed into orange on the COVID score by a high number of cases per capita.

Dubois (10.8%) and DeKalb (10.2%) are scored in orange, but have fallen to 5.6% and 8.5% as more tests have come in. Meanwhile, Fayette and Decatur Counties have moved above 10%.

Delaware County has the state's highest positivity average at 15%. Perry County is lowest at .2%.
