To protect Colorado voters and our election system, our team worked late into the night to file suit against #USPS. We are taking action, working with SOS @JenaGriswold, to stop the Postal Service from misinforming Colorado voters and interfering with our election. Thread 👇

Unless the court stops the #USPS, Colorado voters are expected to receive this incorrect statement, telling them that they need to request an absentee ballot to vote. That is false. Your ballot will be mailed to you. And even if not, you can still vote at a polling center.

Colorado’s vote at home system is a national model. Once you receive your ballot, you can mail it back or, as most do, deposit it in a drop off box. Our system makes voting easy, safe, secure, and reliable. Ideally, the Postal Service would be a partner in this effort.

In this case, we are standing up for Colorado’s constitutional right to manage our elections. It’s the same right we protected in the recent Baca case we won at #SCOTUS. .

Our democracy is a team sport. I am proud of our team’s and the SOS team’s great work to protect our democracy. And I am proud of the spirit here in Colorado, where we have lots of people signing up as poll workers, where other states are scrambling. cpr.org/2020/09/09/as-…

This suit against the #USPS is the second one we have filed. The first one was to address the illegal effort to slow mail delivery. I truly hope this is the last action we need to take to protect our democracy. If not, we will be ready. coag.gov/press-releases…
