Pradosham means ‘removal of sins.’Pradosha Kalam is best time to offer prayers to Bhagwan Shiva.

Pradosha Kalam-4:30pm to 6pm 13thday(Trayodasi) comes twice in a month -Moon’s waxing (Shukla Paksha)&waning(Krishna Paksha)fortnights is very auspicious.

Prasodha Kala Pooja has immense importance there is a legend story.This story is related to the churning of milky ocean by Devas & Asuras using Mandara mountain as the center rod & serpent Vasuki as churning rope, to obtain Amrith for their immortality.

It was during this time that Shiva is believed to have consumed lethal Alahala poison for saving the world from its evil effects.
Parvathi Devi held his throat to avoid the poison to reach inside his body.Because of that Shiva’s neck turned Blue - so the name Neelakanta

Shiva felt bit dizzy on the way back so he had rested on lap of Goddess Parvati after drinking the poison.During this time all maharishis &Devas gathered in this place and prayed for shiva.The place is named “Suruttapalli”. Pallikondeswarar #temple ,Surutapalli,Chittoor Dist,AP

This temple is Pradosha Kshetra.
As per Shiva's order,devas went back &resumed their effort with Asuras to get the Amruth.It is said that Shiva regained consciousness,devas got Amruth on 12th moon day(Dhwadashi) Devas had Amruth without thanking & praying to Shiva

Devas realized their mistake & pleaded for forgiveness to Shiva on Trayodasi(13th moon day).
It is also said that Devas took help of Nandi & approached Shiva.
Shiva forgave Devas &started to do ShivTandav standing in between the horns of Nandi &gave his blessings to all.

Of all poojas in Shiva temples, Pradosha pooja is always special. During this time, abhishek are performed to Shiva & Nandi at the same time.Event concludes with processions of Utsava vigrahas around the #Temple.

Shiva also gave a boon that whomsoever worships him along Nandi in this pradosham time,will get their wishes fulfilled.

Today,Triodasi pradosham on Tuesday is called as Bhauma Pradosham
