Someday soon this labor of love and product of dogged persistence will officially be published after something like 100 edits to slide format, removal of any photos not from Creative Commons, adding content, updating references, expanding on limitations.
Yes, I am relentless.
When it comes to protecting the marginalized and vulnerable from the bullies spreading xenophobia, cutting funding, closing clinics, I am non-stop
With every clinical service closure I am more and more pointed on understanding what administrative budgets are used for
I was CMO of a 14-center FQHC that also was a dedicated refugee screening center and no, this type of care is NOT any CFOs favorite tho the mission driven ones figure out a way to serve mission at the cost of margin and get the revenue from elsewhere.

So if I have been questioning anyone with zero clinical background, persistent that all curriculum must meet standards, or questioning anyone consuming academic/hospital resources, this is why. I do not apologize for prioritizing care. We need to cut out waste to preserve care.
There ain’t money/time to spare and there are jobs that do need to be done. Someone like @mclemoremr who publishes on maternal health, community health, disparities?

But “scholarship” on #Medbikini type “professionalism” that often is anti-POC & NOT anti-racist?
Been so busy multi-Zooming to take 3x allowed classes to maximize yield from this one short pricy year that I had missed the editor’s email! Dear God, this peer-reviewed publication stuff that drags on months is 🤯😫 (Yes, I am on the neurodiversity spectrum to learn this way)
I am trying to pull back a bit as everyone is warning me I am going to burn out.
But a “top strength” is “input” - that is exactly how I then create multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary, comprehensive curricula spanning spectrum of knowledge.

We just lost #RBG and we cannot let up.
I am fine being relentless and unforgiving if that is how women get things done on behalf of the marginalized, powerless, vulnerable.
RBG was both within the system and fighting the system to advance equity.

I was not as productive as I should have been this weekend but my brain clearly needed some down time. I think we all are feeling it as this LinkedIn post got >11K views and reshared. People need to see rest and periods of unfocus modeled and normalized.

Tomorrow morning is U-lab and it makes my brain SO happy to start off the week with meditation, reflective writing, and centering. #Mindfulness
It also makes me SO happy that when I speak up in that class or email the professor if he can urge people to be authentic - not just have #BLM performatory hashtag but then to invest time in attending the Black Business Students Association meetings - he does step up
