It has been over 6 months since restaurants across Maharashtra have not been allowed to open doors to for dine-in customers. While Hotels, Public Transport and Malls are allowed to re-open, restaurants with similar crowd gatherings have been subject to unfair restrictions (1/6)

Although the first months of restrictions was understandable, the State's reluctance to allow dine-in services even after the Central Government's notification to relax guidelines has truly been detrimental to the survival of the restaurant industry. (2/6)

Livelihood of estimated 2 Lakh families has been directly affected by this indecision.
Also the State Govt. has not been forthcoming about the possible date of relaxation, causing immense fear and uncertainty in minds of restaurant owners, employees and suppliers. (3/6)

The restaurant owners association predicts that a further delay in re-opening of dine-in services will result in closure of over 40% of restaurants, thus leading to mass unemployment and severe economic distress across the state. ( 4/6)

I believe citizens are now fully aware of all the precautions they need to take to protect themselves and their families from #COVID19. Restaurant Owners & Operators are also aware of risks, and will be extra vigilant when it comes to protecting themselves & their patrons. (5/n)

On behalf of all restaurant owners, operators & employees from #Pune & across state I have written to Hon. CM @OfficeofUT ji requesting him to urgently direct the administration & allow re-opening of dine-in services with updated protocols & Standard Operating Procedures (6/6)
