In Switzerland, an entire bachelor's degree program has to be quarantined because of around a dozen corona infections. 2500 students of the renowned hotel management school EHL in Lausanne are affected,
as the authorities of the canton of Vaud announced. According to initial findings, those affected were infected at parties that were held last week before stricter protective measures were introduced.
The lessons should continue online, as the management of the technical school announced. The EHL is considered one of the best hotel management schools and attracts trainees from all over the world. The total of 3400 students come from more than 100 countries.
Foreigners pay around 160,000 francs (almost 150,000 euros) for the four-year bachelor's degree. In Switzerland, the canton of Vaud, with currently more than 1200 confirmed cases per 100,000 inhabitants, is hardest hit by the pandemic behind Geneva.
Both are designated as risk areas by the German authorities, as is the canton of Friborg.
