The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), in response to a request from Armenia,
approved the measures by which it ordered Azerbaijan and Armenia to refrain from hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh region. The press center of the court reports. “Considering that the current situation creates a risk of serious violations of the Convention,
the ECHR (sitting as a chamber of seven judges) decided: to apply Rule 39 of the Rules of Court. In order to prevent such violations and in accordance with Rule 39, the Court called on Azerbaijan and Armenia to refrain from accepting any -or measures,
in particular military actions, which may entail violations of the rights of the civilian population provided for by the Convention, including threats to life and health, and to fulfill their obligations under the Convention, "the message says.
