Stephen Colbert just skewered the way the administration tried to hide the president's condition and keep it not just from America, but "unethically" from all the people Trump exposed to the virus.
#COVID19
@colbertlateshow

.@StephenAtHome reiterates what I wrote when the news broke: That Trump put the nation's security at risk.

CBS News medical expert Dr. John La Pook says when he was treating #COVID19 patients at NYU he saw many people who were doing okay the first few days and then took a bad turn suddenly. He says we need more transparency about Trump's status and his co-morbidities.
@colbertlateshow

Dr. LaPook explains that people can be spreaders before they are symptomatic. He says, "If you are infected, you go into isolation. If you are exposed, you go into quarantine."
@colbertlateshow

Dr. LaPook says that people are able to spread the disease for days prior even to testing positive. He also says that Trump MUST be in isolation for TEN DAYS from today. He says Biden was definitely at risk at the debate because of the spray from the yelling.

So @StephenAtHome says "COVID doesn't care what your party is." John Dickerson says Trump can't change the topic from the virus "which he has been trying to downplay for months." Dickerson says 207k Americans are dead and Trump can't surmount that, now.
@colbertlateshow

Colbert says the lift off of Marine1 was so significant. Dickerson says "watching the president of the United States being cared for" is a scene that is usually hidden. Cites Harding. Eisenhower, Cleveland. He talks about not mixing the person and the office.
@colbertlateshow

Dickerson says families of 207k dead are grieving and in this moment we need to think about them and speak respectfully as a nation about this crisis of the #pandemic. (Which Trump has never done.)
