How the 🇹🇷 occupation policy looks like in different parts of #Rojava and why we have to strengthen the #resistance against turkish fascism
A Thread ⬇️
For years, the Turkish state intervened in #Syria primarily through the Islamic State and other jihadist groups.
After it became clear that the Syrian Democratic Forces SDF would win the war against Daesh the Turkish state realized that it would have to intervene directly.
The first target was the region between Afrin and #Manbij: In August 2016, Turkey began to occupy the region together with Islamist mercenaries.
Officially, it turned against IS, but mainly the SDF was attacked. The main goal of the 🇹🇷 regime was to isolate Afrin.
The second target was #Afrin. 2018 the Turkish regime attacked the liberated areas and destroyed the self-government and the autonomy of women.
The occupation regime established by Turkey and its mercenaries has committed numerous crimes since then:

In October 2019 🇹🇷 launched its third major offensive against North East Syria.
It bombed cities on the Turkish-Syrian border, these bombings were aimed mainly against the civilian population with the intention to break the spirit of the revolution and to put the people in fear.
After heavy fighting, Turkey, together with a jihadist militia alliance ("Syrian National Army"), occupied the towns of Ras al-Ain/ #SereKaniye and #TallAbyad.
As in Afrin, hundreds of thousands of people were displaced, especially Kurds and Arab Christians.
The expulsion serves the demographic new order of the region, which has the goal of uprooting peoples who do not fit into the racist plans of Turkish fascism.
Turkey's war is also a war against women's liberation.
For the women in the region, the third invasion also meant massive patriarchal violence, systematic #feminicides went hand in hand with the war.
Let's move on to the current situation: in 2019, the occupying forces were able to advance as far as the M4 freeway,
which is an important transport axis in the region.
The fascists next goal is to occupy #AinIssa.
Air strikes and attacks by jihadist mercenaries have been occuring for weeks.
The occupation of Ain Issa would be the next step to isolate #Manbij and #Kobanê in a pincer movement.
Despite all the state terror, displacement and feminicides, the peoples of northern Syria are ready to defend their homeland.
We need to understand what this struggle means: on the one hand, it is about the existence of millions of people in northeastern Syria and the
defense of the region's ethnic, cultural and religious diversity.
And on the other hand, it is about bringing down Turkish fascism, about defending women's liberation and revolution, and thus defending hope.
This is the international dimension of defending Rojava.
In the fight against turkish fascism, we cannot rely on the imperialist powers.
They are part of the fascist offensive. Russia as well as the US, Germany and all other powers have shown several times that they do not only let Turkey go on, but also support it.
We can only rely on the strength of the revolutionaries, on our own strength.
The liberation struggles all over the world, from Vietnam to Algeria to Cuba have shown that it is possible to beat back the occupiers and the imperialists.
Rojava shows that this is also true today and that it is possible to build a freer society out of war.
Let us enter the new phase of the struggle with determination.
Let's put the defense of #AinIssa and all other liberated places on the agenda of the world public!
Where there is struggle, there is hope.
If you are not yet organized, get organized❗
Let's stop the war machine, let's stop fascism and build a free life ✊🏽
