2) Here are the mutations within each of the 3 standard variants. But the #B117 has also acquired the bad E484K mutation found in the SA and Brazil variants in a new B117 sublineage in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and England. E484K is the bad one.

6) South Africa CDC found that of 44 people tested who had COVID last spring, when their blood (with antibodies) was tested against the new #B1351 variant pseudo virus, almost half had complete immune escape. 90% of them also had lower antibody binding.

7) moreover, the new E484K in B117 seems to have evolved separately in 2 different lineages of #B117 & somehow both **convergently evolved** to find E484K. here is the genome lineage @nextstrain map—one evolved in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and one separately in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. Bad sign when you see convergence.

8) There is also a new preprint study that shows the Frankenstein #B117 + E484K has greater resistance to attempts at antibody neutralization (figures shows more antibodies needed to neutralize different types of the pseudovirus in lab experiment with the mutation).
