Hi Twitter, based on followers almost all of you don't know me. My name is Ben, I'm a Dem pollster working for @TargetSmart. I recently had the honor to work on an important project with @fairfightaction. Thread here on results of what we're nicknamed the Save Democracy Poll.

The goal of the project was to measure public opinion on key provisions in #HR1 #HR4 and the various voter suppression legislative vehicles that have been moving in GA and AZ. Here's a link to the full deck we've released: bit.ly/3weYka5

Big picture is voter suppression is unpopular AF.

Let's start in Georgia, where @BrianKempGA and the GA GOP rushed through SB202, a restrictive measure that among other things will criminalize giving children water while they wait in line to vote with their parents. Shocker, Georgians think that is a terrible idea.

Georgia voters are also very much not on board with the legislature's power grab over election authority

And 7-in-10 Georgians are against shortening the early voting period.

In Arizona, where voting by mail is tremendously popular, it should come as no surprise that GOP whispers to kill VBM are very very unpopular.

As is ending the very popular permanent early voter list in Arizona, also known as the PEVL. Yah, GOP has been talking about killing the PEVL, or at the very least severely restricting access to it. Arizona voters aren't having any of it.

So is asking Arizonans to pay a notary to get their ballot notarized. 7-in-10 oppose.

Arizona voters also not keen on a power grab when it comes to elections, just 1-in-4 support transferring authority to the state legislature.

Nor do they want to ban early vote centers in Arizona. Just 36 percent of Republicans support this terrible idea.

And as criminalizing standing in line to vote seems to be the GOP's voter suppression tactic of choice, we find that making it a crime to wear a #BlackLivesMatter tshirt while waiting in line to vote is also not so popular in AZ, 7-in-10 oppose.

OK, finally the #ForThePeopleAct and #JohnLewisVotingRightsAct are super popular. Turns out American voters like democracy! And they like access to voting!

Who wants to stand in a long line to vote? #HR1 does something about that.

Who wants to prevent rural and urban polling places from closing? Two thirds of American voters, that's who! #HR1

Two-thirds of American voters support expanded early voting options, including basically all Democrats, almost 2-in-3 independents, and a plurality of Republicans.

And the nearly 7-in-10 Americans support the #JohnLewisVotingRightsAct
