Friday the 9th will be day one of Around Australian journey across the top first via Longreach! #Tesla #roundaustralia #electricfuture

Just started a leisurely lap of Oz from Cairns. Lunch in Townsville at The Australian Hotel. Free charger across the road then onto Mackay #Tesla #RoundAustralia

Mackay to Emerald today on the most boring road on the Bruce HWY. thanks #autopilot #Tesla Thanks Scanlon’s for a lovely stay 😀

Rockhampton last #Chargefox till Darwin 😢. How will it go through Emerald Longreach and Mt Isa?? Also how do you get the chargers on the #Tesla screen?

Great stay with welcoming hosts and complimentary charging at The Midlands Motor Inn Emerald. Time to fossil for sapphires at #Rubyvale

Learning how to plug in at the show grounds and seeing some shiny stones makes a fun few days thanks Cam

Springsure to Barcaldine 380kms arrived at the Barcaldine Motor Inn with 44kms of range, a welcoming smile and destination chargers x 2. Off to see the Tree of knowledge let’s hope I learn something!!

A wild time at a ‘must see’ Australian Age of Dinosaurs 🦕. Fascinating place with friendly and informative guides. Their shuttle is electric so asked for a 15 amp charge - no problem 😀👍

Left Winton with the intention of getting to Mount Isa but only got to Cloncurry. Could have made it if I went slower but the pool and 32 amp three phase in camp mode at Cloncurry caravan park made up for it. Very helpful staff and a nice neat place to watch @_TeslaTom latest vid

Off to Camooweal tomorrow to charge up for the three ways challenge and hopefully catch up with @julesboag for a chat and cuppa tea 👍😀. Can’t wait to hear about their adventures 🌴✅

Fair crack of the flaming whip! Just had the day filled with the experience of ‘hypermiling’ from Tennant Creek to Mataranka. Over 550kms at 60 kms an hour 🤣. There is a lot of room for fast chargers in Oz!!! Thanks for the tips on what a tricky section this was @julesboag

What a great start to the day with a dip in the Mataranka Thermal springs. Along with a full charge on 32 amp 3 phase and a comfortable bed. Bliss!

Made a rookie error and went to The Emerald Springs Roadhouse which is not operating currently. So backpedaled to Pine Creek Hotel and asked if they had Three Phase. Yes 2 plugs behind the pub. Added to @plugshare very kind hotelier Chris. Please support with a stopover 11kw

Many thanks @BridieEV for your article. I quickly realized that 60kms an hour was 10% of battery life so was confident that (60kms x 10 =) 600kms range would be enough thedriven.io/2021/04/30/tes…

Surfs up !!! Great to catch up with @JPTSLA and @xthor__ so we could drone on about Model 3’s 🤣 blue rd and white 😀👍

Great to catch up with Ruth, Dimitri and @outbacktesla at the Darwin Sailing Club. Cold beers, great food and warm conversation 👍😀🙏

You know you have crossed the border to WA when?

Where I wanted to sleep. Where I slept !!!!

Had a bit of a problem with the charger at Warmun so had to use a caravan socket. Got enough charge to limp into Halls Creek motel pizza and bed! Here are some shots of the anxiety of Hypermiling

From Pacific Ocean to Indian Ocean. Hello Broome

Chef is busy

Great to catch up with @searsytech at Generators and Off-Grid Energy Broome. Many thanks for the tour Jeda of the fantastic off grid technology and the tips on getting down the road. Lots of interest from #MMM listeners around electric vehicles.

#Brewsonthebay. Beautiful spot at #Monsoons Broome. Ok back to the tasting 🤣🤦‍♂️👍

A big couple of days of driving then charging and a bit of hypermiling! Broome to Pardoo then on to Karatha and wound up at Nanutarra Roadhouse! Goal for tomorrow is Exmouth and a few days looking around.

On a quiet Tuesday night pulled into #thewhalebonebrewery in #Exmouth. Over a 100 people here and a 40 minute wait for pizzas. Life’s good!

Should have got the small one!! 🤣

Was asked tonight how much in charging fees did it cost from Darwin to Exmouth 3,173 kms?
Answer $35. A bit cheaper than petrol at $1.70 a liter

Exmouth to Carnarvon 370 kms today with heaps of rain so gave Coral Bay a miss (next time). Crossed the Tropic of Capricorn on the way and passed 10,000kms of trouble free travel! Charging at 11kw at Carnarvon Motel 😀👍🙏

Carnarvon to Shark Bay (other side to Monkey Mia). Kilometers of nothing them boom! Arrived with 6% after leaving with 100%. No chargers working on Denham grateful to #OceanParkAquarium for the renewable charge with a view and great feed 😀👍🙏

Denham to Geraldton today with the addition of a new charging site on PlugShare. Signing up the sunset holiday park. Might have to give the car a wash 🤣

Geraldton is worth a stop especially the museum for a great exhibit regarding the wreck of The Batavia, HMAS Sydney memorial and car wash 🤣

Made it to Perth or halfway in my mind! Nearly 12,000 kms of trouble free driving. Managed to set of a fault on the high speed charger after reaching the pinnacle of views 🤣 oh well back to free Type 2 chargers 👍😀

Special treat today to be invited along to lunch with @tesla_wa members. I have never seen so many Tesla’s and welcoming smiles in one place. Also all the Model 3 colors side by side!!

Only drove 12,000 kms for my first Tesla Supercharger experience 🤣🤣🤣 a bit crowded but in good company

Stopped in for a 10 minute charge at Cape Mentelle winery in Margaret river (imitating a Porsche) Five hours later after a full tour and tasting/eating experience. Left much the wiser 🍷👍🤣

Been a funny old day as I make my way across the Nullabor. From friendly camels 🐪 that thought my car was a bit odd to running my green car off a diesel generator while trying to be useful but not in the way of the mechanics

Arrived in Cocklebiddy to charge and watch the Wedgetail Eagles 🦅 in their rehabilitation cage after autopilot through the longest straight stretch in Australia (and some very expensive 🦕 juice) Interesting to see the Redx car and exhibit at Balladonia.

A new state brings a new QR code app. Taking a bite out of Oz at the Nullabor Roadhouse

Heading east to the Clare valley supercharger in about an hour. Any winery 🍷tips would be great fully received 👍😀🍷

Getting my inner city fix at the Central Market Adelaide. Either I am@early or it’s the best kept secret 🤣

Great day of autopilot driving from Adelaide to Melbourne. Even had time to stop for Pielattes in Keith prior to another supercharger Horsham experience

Living the hipster life in Melbourne wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the wonderful people at the #Teslaservicecentre Richmond, for a few tips and checking a minor issue with connectivity. Many thanks for your help.

Also can anyone please give suggestions for a wheel alignment other than Tesla who are fairly flat chat at the moment with so many people still getting new cars 🚗 😀?

Sorry that is in Melbourne for wheel alignment. Thanks

A big shoutout to Alnila thanks for the referral and I hope you are enjoying your #TeslaModel3 👍😀. One of over 200,000 deliveries last quarter well done @Tesla. The movement is just starting 🥂🚗🤣

Thanks @Faqirimansoor for the chat and tips to help with a smooth ownership journey 👍😀

Who said #Teslas can’t float! On board and sailing to the 🍎 🏝 #Tasmania The bar is open and the XXXX Gold 🍺 is cold 👍😀

A few highlights so far on the journey #cradlemountain #Jansz #wineglassbay and Jeffrey the wallaby!

Staying at The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel in #Hobart with complimentary EV charging 😀✅

Just ticked over 20,000 kms on a gloomy day in a gloomy place #PortArthur An amazing place to visit

Lovely day to cruise up the east coast with a few stops along the way from Port Arthur to Bicheno. Attempting tuna risotto for dinner in the cabin 👍😀

Drove up elephant pass road today. Wonderful drive although no lookouts then through the St Mary’s and Fingal valley. Picturesque but raining. Charged up at the Kings Meadows chargers. Worked beautifully although a shame about the vandalism. Chargefox aware.

Charging at a 100% off grid winery @mooreshillwine while tasting their exquisite wines. 100kw solar paired with 80kw battery has produced 5 vintages so far!

Huge 24 hours that was remarkably easy. Devonport Tasmania to Clare Valley South Australia. Thanks to a first on first off ferry ride; @Chargefox superb network (I used four of the super fast chargers); and @Tesla autopilot which made the whole 800 + km drive effortless.

A big couple of days driving from Port Augusta to Coober Peady via Spuds roadhouse then onto Erldunda via Marla Roadhouse. You know when you are in the Territory when…..? 🤣

Many thanks @ev_outback for the DC fast charge pulled 16kw or 117kms/h; very informative chat and ☕️. As Molly would say ‘do yourself a favor’ and drop in on your way through. I even managed to buy some new filters in store!

Back over the border into Queensland after a tricky couple of days with a bailout attempt to get from Tennant Creek to Camooweal in one go. Headwinds too strong meant a night at Barkly Homestead on 15 amp at 3 Kws. Mount Isa next after a charge at RACQ Camooweal thanks Dave. 🙏😀

Big day of 532kms from Mount Isa via Cloncurry for a top up charge then 400kms to Hughenden. Lovely place to stop at the show grounds for 32 amp three phase power and of course numerous questions about EVs 🤣👍😀. Townsville tomorrow and a couple of nights at mission beach 🏖

Great to get back to North Queensland and the @Chargefox Queensland Electric Super Highway. A quick charge in Cardwell then a few nights in Mission Beach 🏖

And that’s where my big ‘sort of’ lap of Oz comes to an end in Cairns, 26,627 kms later, showing that even a solo novice can do it 🤣. Thanks @plugshare participants info @Tesla flawless performance @AusTeslaOwners advice on cables and catch-ups along the way 👍😀.
